OpenMoji

OpenMoji was launched in 2018 by a team of students and faculty at the Hasso Plattner Institute (HPI) in Germany. It is a fully open-source emoji project, with all design resources released under the CC BY-SA 4.0 license.

Visually, OpenMoji features iconic black outlines and bright yellow faces, giving it a friendly, approachable look with high recognition, widely appreciated in the open-source and design communities.

OpenMoji provides both SVG vector and PNG bitmap formats, keeps pace with new Unicode versions, and welcomes contributions from anyone. It stands as an exemplary model of academic and community collaboration in producing emoji resources.
