Firefox Emoji

Firefox Emoji (internal codename FxEmoji) is an emoji font developed by Mozilla for the Firefox browser. Unlike most browsers, Firefox does not rely on the operating system's built-in emoji font; instead it uses its own embedded emoji font for rendering, so users on Windows, macOS, or Linux see exactly the same emoji when browsing the web.

The project traces its roots back to the FxEmoji icon set Mozilla created for the Firefox OS mobile operating system. It has since evolved into Firefox's built-in emoji solution and is published as open source on GitHub.

Visually, Firefox Emoji features bright colors, flat shapes, and an approachable style that complements Firefox's overall design language. Thanks to Mozilla's open-source tradition, designers and developers are free to reuse this emoji set in other projects. However, Firefox Emoji development appears to have stalled; its last update was in 2017.
